Dr. Alexis Deffain, MD

After having completed 5 years of internship in general and digestive surgery at the University of Poitiers (France), Dr. Deffain continued his specialization by completing one year of clinical head at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) of Tours (France) in Digestive and Bariatric and Metabolic Surg ery. He then completed a second year at the Centre Hospitalier Régional d'Orléans (France) where he mastered Robotic Surgery and a third at the CHU de Tours in Colo-rectal Surgery. After his French medical studies, he crossed the Atlantic to perform a Fellow ship in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery and Mini-Invasive and Endoscopic Surgery in the Surgery Department of the Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal. His current research interests include Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery.
