Fabio Garofalo graduated from the University of Parlermo in italy. He did his surgical training in Switzerland and obtained diploma of General Surgery in 2014. He came to Canada in January 2015 to start a 2-year clinical fellowship in "Minimally invasive and Bariatric Surgery" at Sacré-Coeur Hospital in Montreal (University of Montreal).

In 2016, he obtained the title of Fellow of American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS). In 2017 he returned in Switzerland at Ospedale Regionale di Lugano (Civico Hospital).

Since 2018, he has been the head for Esophago-gastric & Baratric Surgery in Lugano, Switzerland. Active in the field of research, with several publications in prestigious specialist journals, his main focus is in the field of bariatric surgery and reflux disease. He participates in the most important international congresses, where he presents his research work and speaks as a speaker or moderator.
